  • AGM 2024 - The AGM of the “Friends of Newbridge Park” 2024 will be held during our next committee meeting at the Locksbrook Inn at 10:30am on Friday 26th April.  We have taken this unusual step as last year having advertised it extensively and hired a venue only a couple of people turned up.

We would welcome some new members to the committee so if you are interested, please come along to the meeting or let us know.  Unless we have any nominations or volunteers to stand for one of the officer posts of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer or membership officer the likelihood is that there will be no changes to the current setup.

We have achieved some significant steps forward in the last year all of which have been posted on the Facebook page and as it stands at the moment, we have some interesting projects planned for the next year.

We look forward to seeing you – best wishes.

  • January 2024 - Due to unforeseen circumstances we find ourselves in a position that we have lost a couple of committee members. I would like to invite anyone who feels that they could offer their services to let the Chairman know. At the moment all the main officer posts are currently filled so anyone accepting the invite would only be required to offer their advice at committee meeting that are held approximately 6 times a year.

  • December 2023 - We wish you all a happy Christmas and New Year. 2023 was a busy year with many things being done. The biggest of which was the installation of the Wildflower Meadow area. The Brassmill Lane boundary verge has benefitted from a tidy up and the main gate nearest Newbridge Road has been repaired. The biggest news for 2024 is that we have been offered a pond to enhance the wildflower meadow and attract more pollinators.

  • October 2023 - Work began on preparing for the Wild Flower Meadow on Thursday 5th. A lot earlier than we expected. This work should be completed in 2 days and the planting will take place later this month. We have a date set for 26th to plant around “Tony’s Tree.

  • September 2023 - Friends of Newbridge Park have submitted a Nomination to the Planning Department of the Council to apply for the Park to be Designated a Local Green Space and thereby safeguarding the Park from future commercial development.
